Rocky Mountain Wa Shonaji Quilt Guild – Trunk Show

(Hybrid, In Person and Zoom)

Description of the Presentation

Our program will be a Trunk Show of quilts by members of the Rocky Mountain Wa Shonaji Quilt Guild, with a historic narrative about quilts, with special emphasis on quilting from an African American perspective.  As a bonus, our Wa Shonaji Chorus will be performing a few songs.

We will allow time for questions from the audience.

Biographical Information

The Rocky Mountain Wa Shonaji Quilt Guild was formed in 1994 by Helen T. Kearney. She and other African-American women were interested in perpetuating the heritage of quilting and promoting fellowship among those in quilting from an African American perspective. We celebrate diversity within the membership of the Guild.

Our motto is “Each One Teach One.” We seek to promote the work and accomplishments of our members and to preserve the tradition, culture and history of quilting.
