Mel Beach: Free Motion CREAT-TV and Reality

(Zoom)

From Mel about her program:

Tune in as I share my love of free motion quilting as it relates to my guilty pleasure of watching reality television!! I’ll share my own unscripted, real-life adventures of learning to free-motion quilt. You won’t want to change channels as I share my confessionals about my fear factors, extreme makeover story, myth busting tips and tricks for quilting on a domestic sewing machine, and “show”mance with some of my favorite tools and notions! Be sure to set your TiVo and DVR, as you won’t want to miss this humorous and inspirational presentation – complete with a trunk show finale!

About Mel:

Mel Beach is a San Jose, CA based quilt artist, teacher and lecturer, who breaks away from tradition by adding her own modern, beautifully textured, and colorful twists. She loves stretching her creativity through her completion of 100+ quilt challenges at the local and international level in addition to several 100-Day Projects involving a roll of dice. Her quilts draw upon her inquisitive nature of asking “What If?”, “Why Not?”, working in a series, comedy improv studies, along with her love of nature, photography, and sketching.

Mel is passionate about teaching/lecturing, with a focus on quilting on a domestic machine and modern quilting techniques. Starting in 2016, Mel has taught for quilt shops, guilds and quilt shows all across the United States including several large venues: Craft Napa, Empty Spools Seminars, Online Quilt Festivals, Pacific International Quilt Festival, Road to California, Virtual Quilt Festival, and Virtual Quilt Show.

Her quilts have been juried into national quilt shows and traveling exhibits, published in books/magazines, earned awards/ribbons, and selected as Finalists. She was a Michael Miller Brand Ambassador, Aurifil Artisan, and an AccuQuilt GO! Getter. Mel has been featured on Quilting Arts TV (series 2500 and 2600) and The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims (episode 2808 and 2112), and has published articles with Quilting Arts Magazine, Curated Quilts, and The Craft Industry Alliance.
