The Workshop

FRCQ member, Marianne Williamson, will be giving a workshop on how light affects art. This workshop will help you understand light in your work and how the elements and principals of a piece are not determined by a tangible object. Rather, elements and principals are determination as a result of an artist’s personal impression, interpretation, time of day, and mood.

Through the use of fabric, quilting, thread, beads and paints, Marianne layers her vision into an artistic concept in fiber art.

Marianne will demonstrate how the art piece begins using inspiration images. By adding movement and light plus shadows you get effects that might be new to you. Wind, water cascading over rocks, forest trees that show shadows, leaves that sway in the breeze, even an abstract using close ups so one can see the movement but not the subject is an interesting subject.

Each student will receive individual attention during this workshop.
