About Jandel:

It is hard to believe that I have been quilting for over 30 years. Many years back I remember reading a poem in an art quilter’s periodical that was entitled “Do the Work.” I was so moved by it that I copied it into one of my artistic journals.

At the time, I didn’t believe my work was very good, even though I had landed at quilt in the Houston International Quilt Festival. And I was determined to get better while enjoying the freedom and creativity that “quilting outside the lines” provided. There is something fiercely courageous about putting yourself out there in any art medium and yet without doing that, you cannot grow and in fact will wither over time.

In this time together, I will share some of that personal journey, weaving in some stories and images of success and “failure”, punctuating how the latter helped me grow as an artist and how it helps me think about pushing boundaries.

Only members are eligible to participate in our dynamic workshops and excellent juried exhibitions. Membership dues are $35 a year and membership runs per calendar year. Dates: Every third Monday, January through November.
Location: Westminster Recreation Center, 10455 Sheridan Blvd, Westminster, CO
Time: Social time starts at 6:30. The meeting is from 7-9.
