NOTE: FOR AUGUST MEETING ONLY. MEETING PLACE CHANGE TO THE MAC AT THE CORNER OF 72ND AND HOOKER.
August 21, 2017
Join us for a unique opportunity of this panel discussion with international quilt artists Allison Schwabe, Annette Morgan and Lynne Seaman.
Allison Schwabe – Allison was born in Australia in 1946. As a child she learned sewing and embroidery skills which have become the basis of her lifelong interest in textile and fiber art. For more than 30 years her original works have been inspired by landscape structures, processes and resulting patterning of textures. Alison’s work is regularly selected for prestigious exhibitions within Australia and overseas, and is held in several private and public collections. She accepts commissions; occasionally teaches and writes magazine articles; and maintains a blog or virtual visual diary.
Annette Morgan – An international award winning quilt maker, teacher, author and qualified quilt judge. She lives in the UK and travels worldwide to show her work and teach. Her work is featured in many books and magazines and she has published four books herself.
Lynn Seaman – Lynn is an American Art Quilter living in London, England. She has a BA in French and Spanish from Oklahoma State University and has had a career teaching both languages in both the US and the UK. Lynn became interested in making Art Quilts when she retired from teaching languages in 1996 and participated in a class in England with Judith Trager. Since then, she has developed into a well know Art Quilter and has shown her work in many juried, invitational and solo exhibits in the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, the US, and Japan. Lynn is well known for her use of color; and her favorite subjects are trees, landscapes, and the changing of the seasons.
