Jette Clover: Graphics and Graffiti: The translation of letters, words and sentences from the urban landscape to layered surfaces in textile.

Jette was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark and has lived and worked for many years in the USA and the Netherlands. Since 2005 she has been living in Antwerp, Belgium.

Her formal education is in journalism and art history. She has worked on a daily newspaper in Copenhagen, had an art gallery in Los Angeles, California and a jazz club in the Netherlands. Later she curated exhibitions at the Dutch Textile Museum for more than 10 years, including the very first European Art Quilts exhibition in 1997. Since 1998 she has worked full time as a studio artist. Her quilts are inspired by the city with all its haphazard layers and fragments of visual communication, alluding to the passing of time.

She has been a member of the European group Quilt Art since 2000, and she was a member of the Art Quilt/New York group for ten years. She is a member of SDA (Surface Design Association) and of SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Association) and served as its international representative for Europe and Israel for three years. Jette has exhibited widely in USA, Europe and Asia, and is a sought after teacher for workshops in surface design.
