About the Artist
I came to art quilt making after several other careers. Following my childhood in Venezuela and graduation from Pomona College, I taught elementary school in the Chicago inner city. I later received a graduate degree in city planning, and was employed as a planner in both the public and private sectors. Subsequently, I worked as a lobbyist on behalf of the statewide arts community, the League of Women Voters and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
My husband and I travel widely and we’re often recovering from jet lag or figuring out how to get it next. Meanwhile, I try to remain active in community development and service, while aspiring to make more art quilts and, at the same time, nurture my interests in printmaking and photography.
