About the Artist
Artist Statement:

I began quilting in the late 70’s, taking a traditional approach. However I
soon found myself looking for ways to stretch the tradition by manipulating
colors, modifying designs. With this fresh approach, my work took on a totally new look. I began to see the world around me as a source of inspiration for color, my fabrics as paints, and my quilt surface as my canvas. Giving myself permission to “go outside the lines”.I want my quilts to spark the imagination of people who view them…. to help them see the world in new ways….to sing with color – and above all, to be pleasing to the eye.
I use both commercial and hand painted or over dyed fabrics. For me it is mostly about color, lots of color and texture.
